Design credit: Nina of Nina Reads

Yesterday kicked off Armchair BEA, a virtual event where those of us who could not attend BEA in New York City this year can still discuss books and blogging together! Yesterday was all about introductions, and you can see mine HERE if you missed it. Today I will be talking about my favorite 2012 releases as well as some books being promoted at BEA that I am dying to read and will hopefully become a favorite as well!

Best of 2012

-City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments #5) by Cassandra Clare: LOVE this series and of course, Jace! You can find my review HERE!

-Ten by Gretchen McNeil: Okay, I realize this one isn’t going to be released until fall, but I already read it and loved it! My review will be up on the blog closer to release.

-Hallowed (Unearthly #2) by Cynthia Hand: One of the best series in the angel genre that I have read.

-Sempre by J.M. Darhower: I can’t say enough how much I love this one! The story is beautiful, heartbreaking, and I NEED the sequel! Review can be found HERE!

-Fever (The Chemical Gardens #2) by Lauren DeStefano: I had chills when I finished reading this one! You can read my review HERE!

-Pandemonium (Delirium #2) by Lauren Oliver: Lauren is the queen of killer cliffhangers in this series! Gah! What I wouldn’t do to get a copy of the last book, Requiem! Review is HERE!

-Insurgent (Divergent #2) by Veronica Roth: This series is becoming my all-time favorite! LOVE Tris and Four in this action packed dysptopian! Review can be found HERE!

-Article 5 by Kristen Simmons: An amazing dystopian read!

-The Fault in Our Stars by John Green: Seriously one of the best books I have ever read. EVER!

Books at BEA

-Prodigy (Legend #2) by Marie Lu: I loved Legend! I am so looking forward to the sequel!

-What’s Left of Me by Kat Zhang: The whole idea about sharing souls sounds so interesting!

-Carnival of Souls by Melissa Marr: Fighting in a deadly competition? Definitely want to read!

-Venom by Fiona Paul: Renaissance Venice AND a murder mystery? Yes, please!

-Through to You by Emily Hainsworth: I have been dying for this one! Thinking your girlfriend is dead and discovering she isn’t, but is stuck in a parallel world, sounds so intriguing!

Don’t Turn Around by Michelle Gagnon: Computer hacking! Seems so different and like something that could actually happen! EEK!

Insignia by S.J. Kincaid: Can’t wait to get my hands on this one!

Poison Princess by Kresley Cole: A book about a girl who has apocalyptic hallucinations is definitely one I need to read.

Breathe by Sarah Crossan: I am a huge fan of dystopia so this was a no-brainer for me to add to my TBR list!

-Ever Day by David Levithan: I featured this recently on my ‘Waiting On’ Wednesday post. Sounds heartbreaking, but fantastic.

-If I Lie by Corrine Jackson: I have had this book on my TBR list for so long. So excited the release isn’t too far away now!

-Time Between Us by Tamara Ireland Stone: OMG I just had to edit this book into the post because I didn’t realize it would be at BEA! I have been dying for this one! I am really into time travel right now.

I could seriously go on and on with books featured at BEA this year that I have high hopes for joining the list of 2012 favorites, but I am pulling myself away! LOL Let me know in the comments below what your favorite 2012 reads were and what BEA books you are looking forward to! Links if you got them!

**I don’t have a BEA giveaway for today, but you can check out my current giveaway for a SIGNED copy of SPEAK by Laurie Halse Anderson. It ends very soon! Link is at the top of the side bar. 🙂

Great recs – have read several of these – Fever and Pandemonium for example. But several I haven’t and I will add to my list – looking up Article 5 right now for example!

You picked some awesome books! I forgot about the Kresley Cole new YA series!! I have that on my list to grab at BEA. I probably should have looked at that list instead of my OMG! I WANTZ IT list on Goodreads. Fail.

Thanks for stopping by my post!!!

Such a great list! Most of the ones you chose are either on my bookshelf (have read and loved), on my nightstand (waiting to be devoured), or on my TBR shelf (Why aren’t there more hours in the day?). There’s a few on here I’m going to have to go look up on Goodreads. I’m such a sucker for a pretty cover! GAH.

I hope you have a great BEA-filled week!

It’s so weird but City of Lost Souls, Pandemonium and Fever were some of my most anticipated books of 2012 and I haven’t read them yet. I have them but I just haven’t read them. When I found out the next Mortal Intruments book wont be coming out until 2014, I decided I better wait until later to read it since her books end with such WTF cliffhangers. Same with Pandemonium and Fever.

While I LOVED Unearthly last year I did really like Hallowed but there was just too much Christian and not enough Tucker. I felt like Christian was being force-fed to me and I didn’t like it. It was heartbreakingly beautiful though.

    Great list!

Oh yes, the wait for COHF is killer! Almost 2 YEARS! *cries* I have heard other people not love Hallowed as much as Unearthly, due to the triangle forming. I love Christian but definitely lean towards Tucker for the love interest. 🙂

Love your list! COLS was amazing! It’s in my list too. I’m dying to read Ten, and hopefully I get the mood to read both Pandemonium and Insurgent. I loved both its first books! A lot of books to look forward to this year!
