A Kid’s Perspective: Judging a Book By Its Cover (10)

November 16, 2012 Book Covers, Cover Art, Designs by Shawn, Divergent, Insurgent, Judging a Book by its Cover, Veronica Roth 19

Inspired by an article on Babble called, Judging a Book by Its Cover: A 6-year-old Guesses What Classic Novels Are All About, I have asked my 5 year old what his thoughts are on a few Young Adult covers lying around the house. To take it a step further, I also had him make some cover art!

Before we get to the book covers, I thought I would share with you how this is the last one of these posts where I can say I asked my ‘5 year old’ his thoughts because Shawn will be 6 years old tomorrow! Where the time went, I have no idea! Happy Birthday Shawn! πŸ™‚

Today’s post is the Divergent Edition, one of my favorite series of all-time!

“This is about a house that got on fire because there was a falling fire circle in the sky, that was really an eye.”

Cover Art:

“Insurgent is about a very, very tall tree that fell from the sky. It is fall time because some of the leaves are falling off the tree and it is really windy.”

Cover Art:

I just love these! I hope you enjoyed Shawn’s thoughts and artwork this week. Let me (and Shawn) know what you think! πŸ™‚
