Top Ten Tuesday (5): Most Anticipated Books of 2013

November 27, 2012 Most Anticipated Books of 2013, Top Ten Tuesday 37

**Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and Bookish.**

This week I am talking about my Top Ten most anticipated releases for next year. I am pretty sure this is the hardest list I have ever made because really, there are about 100 books I could put on this list. The huge problem I ran into is that, well there are a lot of sequels to look forward to. Those obviously are huge ‘ohmygodIneeditnow’ books but I don’t want to make the whole list about them because there are also so many debuts to look forward to! So I made a list for both. πŸ™‚

Sequels

Boundless (Unearthly #3) by Cynthia Hand

My FAVORITE angel series is coming to a close! Hallowed gave me ALL THE FEELS! And I absolutely love both Tucker and Christian. How will this all end?? I NEED TO KNOW!

Untitled (Divergent #3) by Veronica Roth

Or as it is also known… Detergent. NEED, NEED, NEED this book! This has easily become one of my all-time favorite series with amazing characters that I love. *coughFOURcough* I would love to crawl inside Roth’s mind and see what she has in store for them. Creepy? Probably, but true nonetheless.

Unravel Me (Shatter Me #2) by Tahereh Mafi

I fell in love with Mafi’s beautiful and poetic writing style in Shatter Me so of course this one makes my list. Though I am avoiding reviews like the plague because all the Warner love is making me nervous for my Adam. EEK!

Belladonna (Secrets of the Eternal Rose #2) by Fiona Paul

I don’t even usually read historical fiction for the most part but Paul made me a BIG fan! The setting is breathtaking and the plotline is to DIE for. *hehe* So excited to read more Falco. Also, did you know the author is awesome? Because yeah, she is.

Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices #3) by Cassandra Clare

I am not sure anything even needs to be said here. For real though, Team Will or Team Jem, I am hoping that only one box of tissues will be needed because I am guessing Cassie will break my heart in some way or another.

Honorable Mentions (because I just can’t narrow it down)
-Sever (The Chemical Garden #3) by Lauren DeStefanoThe last half of Fever gave me chills. Like, serious goosebumps and chills. I have no idea how this will all end but I am hoping no matter what, someone gives Vaughn a roundhouse kick to that sick and twisted head of his. *innocent smile*
-Breaking Point (Article 5 #2) by Kristen Simmons Chase and Ember… I have a feeling they will be getting themselves in all sorts of trouble in this next installment.
-Prodigy (Legend #2) by Marie Lu Day and June are both totally kick-ass. The ending of Legend ripped me apart so I need this sequel ASAP!
-Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky #2) by Veronica Rossi I love this world. I love these characters. Enough said.
-Requiem (Delirium #3) by Lauren Oliver The ONLY reason I have not posted a huge sign with arrows pointing to me, declaring my need for this book, is because I have actually already read it. So anxious for everyone else to as well. *evil grins*

See what I mean? I am already at 10. *sigh*

Debuts

Shadowlands by Kate Brian

Murder, mystery, and suspense! And let’s not forget the beautiful cover!

Taken by Erin Bowman

Another gorgeous cover, but also boy POV and of course what lies behind this wall. What exactly is ‘the heist’ anyways? All things I look forward to uncovering in this one!

The Program by Suzanne Young

This whole concept of suicide being a contagious disease is really intriguing. Plus I loved Young’s A Need So Beautiful series. Really excited for reading something different from her.

Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza

This sounds like an action-packed thriller! Sign me up! Plus it is in development to become a network drama with producer Shonda Rhimes! Duuuuuude, I watch all of her shows. I need to have this one!

Parallel by Lauren Miller

Guyssssssss…parallel worlds! Such an interesting premise. I love how they did this cover too.

Honorable Mentions (because once again, I can’t narrow it down):
-The Murmurings by Carly Anne West Creeeeeeeeeeepy. But I wants it!
-Premeditated by Josin L. McQuein Holy revenge, batman!

I could go on and on, but I am about to pass out from all this excitement for 2013! So much to look forward to next year. Bring it on, 2013. BRING. IT. ON!

What are you looking forward to in 2013? Links if you got ’em!

I thought about starting this meme, but this week’s list would have been the hardest EVER. My list just for my debut challenge post is ginormous. But I agree with all your picks. And I’m seriously still jealous you’ve read Requiem. I need that book yesterday. πŸ˜‰

I can’t always participate because I sometimes have no idea what I would pick. lol But it is fun! As you can see, I couldn’t narrow it completely down. And of course I feel bad for leaving out so many others I want!

  2. Alexa

Fellow Divergent fan in the house! I am so, so excited for the third book, and am already trying to think of what Veronica Roth is going to come up with in that one. It’s gonna be SO GOOD.

  3. Brittani

Awesome top ten! I have so many of those on mine as well! I’ve read Unravel Me and it is fantastic. AND I am still firmly Team Adam after reading it even though so many I know defected to Team Warner. So if your firmly Team Adam I wouldn’t worry!

    My Top Ten

  4. Jess (Gone with the Words)

I’m also anticipating a lot of the same sequels. I do really need to start the Unearthly series though!

I’m also really excited about Taken, The Program, and Shadowlands!! Awesome picks!! πŸ˜€

Great list! I would definitely have the same one! It’s hard to narrow it down because there are so many books coming out in 2013. I’m especially excited for Clockwork Princess, Taken, Mila 2.0, and Boundless!

Honestly I am scared out of my mind to read Boundless. I REALLY hope she doesn’t end up with Christian. I HATE him so bad!!!
Detergent, that is too funny! I don’t know why this book does not interest me at all…
