novels this year! This event is hosted by Fiktshun, Confessions of a Bookaholic, Two Chicks on Books, A Life Bound By Books, and Magical Urban Fantasy Reads.

I actually already made a post on this topic back in November. (HERE) I attempted to narrow it down and switch it up a bit more this time around but just ended up adding more honorable mentions in the debut section. Oops. 😉

Sequels

Boundless (Unearthly #3) by Cynthia Hand

My FAVORITE angel series is coming to a close! Hallowed gave me ALL THE FEELS! And I absolutely love both Tucker and Christian. How will this all end?? I NEED TO KNOW!

Untitled (Divergent #3) by Veronica Roth

Or as it is also known… Detergent. NEED, NEED, NEED this book! This has easily become one of my all-time favorite series with amazing characters that I love. *coughFOURcough* I would love to crawl inside Roth’s mind and see what she has in store for them. Creepy? Probably, but true nonetheless.

Unravel Me (Shatter Me #2) by Tahereh Mafi

I fell in love with Mafi’s beautiful and poetic writing style in Shatter Me so of course this one makes my list. Though I am avoiding reviews like the plague because all the Warner love is making me nervous for my Adam. EEK!

Belladonna (Secrets of the Eternal Rose #2) by Fiona Paul

I don’t even usually read historical fiction for the most part but Paul made me a BIG fan! The setting is breathtaking and the plotline is to DIE for. *hehe* So excited to read more Falco. Also, did you know the author is awesome? Because yeah, she is.

Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices #3) by Cassandra Clare

I am not sure anything even needs to be said here. For real though, Team Will or Team Jem, I am hoping that only one box of tissues will be needed because I am guessing Cassie will break my heart in some way or another.

Honorable Mentions (because I just can’t narrow it down)
-Sever (The Chemical Garden #3) by Lauren DeStefanoThe last half of Fever gave me chills. Like, serious goosebumps and chills. I have no idea how this will all end but I am hoping no matter what, someone gives Vaughn a roundhouse kick to that sick and twisted head of his. *innocent smile*
-Breaking Point (Article 5 #2) by Kristen Simmons Chase and Ember… I have a feeling they will be getting themselves in all sorts of trouble in this next installment.
-Prodigy (Legend #2) by Marie Lu Day and June are both totally kick-ass. The ending of Legend ripped me apart so I need this sequel ASAP!

Debuts

Shadowlands by Kate Brian

Murder, mystery, and suspense! And let’s not forget the beautiful cover!

Taken by Erin Bowman

Another gorgeous cover, but also boy POV and of course what lies behind this wall. What exactly is ‘the heist’ anyways? All things I look forward to uncovering in this one!

The Program by Suzanne Young

This whole concept of suicide being a contagious disease is really intriguing. Plus I loved Young’s A Need So Beautiful series. Really excited for reading something different from her.

Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza

This sounds like an action-packed thriller! Sign me up! Plus it is in development to become a network drama with producer Shonda Rhimes! Duuuuuude, I watch all of her shows. I need to have this one!

Parallel by Lauren Miller

Guyssssssss…parallel worlds! Such an interesting premise. I love how they did this cover too.

Honorable Mentions (because once again, I can’t narrow it down):
-The Murmurings by Carly Anne West Creeeeeeeeeeepy. But I wants it!
-Premeditated by Josin L. McQuein Holy revenge, batman!
-The Collector by Victoria Scott Ummm, I need this book, like yesterday. Dante is one character I must meet ASAP!
-Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins I love the first 2 companion books and am pretty sure this one will not disappoint either.

What 2013 releases are you excited for? I hope you enjoyed this week long Best of 2012 event! It was a lot of fun looking back and now looking forward to what awesomeness lies in store in the new year.

LOL! I love the Tide Detergent cover!
I haven’t heard of any of these Debuts, but Mila 2.0 looks awesome. I’m a big fan of YA fantasy and Sci-fi!

  2. Jen Ryland/YA Romantics

Wow — I can agree with ALL of these. (Usually I read a list like this by someone else and there’s usually one “what?” title on it.)
Especially dying for Boundless. I’m going to have to tape the last few pages of the book together so I won’t peek. I’m so bad…..

  3. Katie

I’m really excited for all of these too. I can’t wait for Clockwork Princess and Boundless, especially. Great picks!

  4. Kim @ A Dutchie on Books

Isla!! I loved Anna and the French Kiss, but haven’t read Lola’s book yet. I can’t wait to get to that one next year plus Isla’s book :)
I agree with you on Vaughn and I NEED to know how that series is going to end!!

  5. Sierra

I believe the next Divergent book is going to be called Convergant. I don’t think it’s been mentioned on Veronica Roth’s website though. My friend told me. Sierra
    Keep growing beautiful!
