A Kid’s Perspective: Judging a Book By Its Cover (18)

January 18, 2013 Book Covers, Cover Art, Designs by Shawn, Don't Turn Around, Judging a Book by its Cover, Michelle Gagnon 18

Inspired by an article on Babble called, Judging a Book by Its Cover: A 6-year-old Guesses What Classic Novels Are All About, I have asked my 6 year old what his thoughts are on a few Young Adult covers lying around the house. To take it a step further, I also had him make some cover art!

“I think this is about somebody trying to put their hand through this type of rubber and they put their fingers in it and it feels really goofy. And from the other side their hand looks like rubber.”

Cover Art:

He really enjoyed this one! He even traced his own hand for the picture. lol I hope you enjoyed Shawn’s thoughts and artwork this week! Since a couple other blogs have expressed interest in doing something similar, I have decided to add a linky tool, so that you can also check out what they are doing as well! I hope you will give them a look see!

Don’t forget to let me (and Shawn) know what you think! 🙂

Too cute! I love the perspective of little ones. Usually I have a giggle over the things they say. I think you have a budding artist on your hands. 🙂

This is beyond adorable!! Haha! I laughed out loud at what he thinks the book is about! 😉 What a little artist he is, too! 🙂

This is the greatest thing ever, and I love that I found it just as I was contemplating doing something similar with my four-year-old sister. I can’t tell if this is an actual meme, per se, but maybe I’ll link up and join in the fun!
