A Kid’s Perspective: Judging a Book By Its Cover (19)

January 25, 2013 Book Covers, Cover Art, David Levithan, Designs by Shawn, Every Day, Judging a Book by its Cover 15

Inspired by an article on Babble called, Judging a Book by Its Cover: A 6-year-old Guesses What Classic Novels Are All About, I have asked my 6 year old what his thoughts are on a few Young Adult covers lying around the house. To take it a step further, I also had him make some cover art!

“I think it’s about people who are floating around in the air in a group, but they got separated. So they are reaching and trying to get back together.”

I just loved this one! I think it is one of my favorite pieces of his cover artwork as well as what he thought it might be about. So sweet. I hope you enjoyed Shawn’s thoughts and artwork this week! Since a couple other blogs have expressed interest in doing something similar, I have decided to add a linky tool, so that you can also check out what they are doing as well! I hope you will give them a look see!

Don’t forget to let me (and Shawn) know what you think! ๐Ÿ™‚

His description is so cute and insightful and it doesn’t sound too far off. Thanks for being one of the inspirations for the similar post that may become a recurring feature on my blog!
