Top Ten Tuesday (6): Books I Resolve to Read in 2013

January 1, 2013 Books I Resolve to Read in 2013, Top Ten Tuesday 32

**Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and Bookish.**

I was already planning on composing a list of books I wish I had a chance to read in 2012, didn’t, and resolve to read in 2013, so it was perfect when I saw what today’s Top Ten topic was! Only problem? There is A LOT of them. I went through and picked out the ones I was dying to read and came up with 25. O_O Yeah, so once again I had to at least attempt to narrow it down further and this is what I came up with!

I vow to read this SOON, since she will be coming to the Rochester Teen Book Festival in May! It’s a must!

Another author to attend the event! I actually won an ARC of the book in a door prize drawing at last year’s, but have not been able to find time to read it. I do wear the shirt all the time though.

I know, I KNOW! Everyone seems to love this fantasy novel so it is definitely on my radar for 2013!

I can’t believe I haven’t read this yet. Seriously cannot. I even bought the paperback months ago and just, never got to it. *sigh* Obviously the sequel is another I will have to read as well.

Counted down the days and even pre-ordered a signed copy from her launch party. Then I just got super busy with review books and such. This one is in my high priority pile.

There has been a lot of buzz surrounding this novel so I picked up a copy a few weeks back. I look forward to diving in!

Of course Finale is included in here as well. I know this is a love them or hate them type of series, but I really liked the first 2 books. It feels like forever since I have read Crescendo (over 2 years!), but I definitely cannot wait to see how it all comes together.

I don’t have a good excuse,. It just slipped passed me. This is another I have seen a lot of positive reviews for so I am really looking forward to picking it up in 2013.

Love Noah! I am so excited for this one so it is a must read!! Plus the first book ended with a big cliffhanger.

I have had a copy for months and months and even moved it to my priority pile in the fall time. Still haven’t gotten to it yet. The sequel comes out very soon so I hope to read it in the next couple months.

Love this author’s work. I actually won a copy in a giveaway a couple weeks before it came out and… long story short, I need to go pick up a copy myself. I waited a long time, just in case, and plan to rectify it’s absence on my shelf very soon.

Fell in love with Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares by these authors so this one is a must read as well. BONUS: Davide Levithan is also coming to the Rochester Teen Book Festival so I can have him sign my copies!

I’ve heard wonderful things about this one and bought a copy awhile back. Just need to read it… and get it signed in May. πŸ˜‰

So intrigued by elements and have heard great things about this series!

Yeah, I know it’s not 10. In my defense, I DID narrow it down. πŸ˜‰ I really hope I can read all of these. I am a bit of a slow reader and with months packed with 20-30 books on my TBR, it can be a little troublesome to have to pick and choose. Hence, this list. Hopefully I will be able to accomplish reading these on top of all the new ones coming out! What books do you resolve to read this year? Links if you got ’em!

Marissa Meyer is coming to the Rochester Teen Book Fest!? That is awesome. I’m from Syracuse, so that isn’t too far away at all. I’m reading Cinder right now, and I am loving it. It isn’t a book I would normally pick up (science fiction is hard for me to enjoy), but I am so glad I gave it a chance. It is amazing.

I liked Storm, but I didn’t love it. I will read the next one, when it comes out though.

Easy is on my list too!

    Happy New Year!

You haven’t read Cinder?!?!? OMG get on that! And I’m actually reading Shadow now it’s ok! We should Grave Mercy together!!!

Cinder is so good! A must read even without the chance to meet her πŸ™‚

On my top ten? Definitely some Harry Potter books in there (I’ve only read book 1) and Vampire Academy. I also need to finally finish book #3 in a bunch of a series I started and never finished.

  5. Rachel

So many great books! I haven’t read Cinder, either, but I am soon! And I want to read Evolution, but I have yet to read Unbecoming. And Arcadia Awakens looks really good! I need to read almost your entire list, haha. Thanks for sharing and stopping by!

Oh! Great list! I plan on reading Easy and A Midsummer’s Nightmare sometime this year. I was looking forward to both of them, but somehow along the way I forgot about them. I hope you love Time Between Us, Nick & Norah, and Storm! They are all such good books. (:

    My Top Ten

  7. YA Novelties

YESSS to all of these! I LOVE Kody Keplinger’s novels πŸ™‚ Can’t wait for her next one! And the Elemental series are the best, which reminds me that I need to read Gabriel’s story πŸ™‚

Except for Grave Mercy, Easy, Finale and A Midsummer’s Nightmare the rest are on my list too.
Finale was… frustrating but I still loved it. Patch is still my guy πŸ™‚
    Easy is perfection.
Grave Mercy is a little slow but good. Depends if you like historical books. But killer nuns? Awesome!
I LOVED A Midsummer’s Nightmare. The MC is so messed up and it was awesome watching her struggle, mess up and grow up.
    Happy 2013!

I think I’ve read half of these and liked them all, and all the rest sound great and are probably on my TBR pile already. I really liked Easy & Mara Dyer especially. Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by Book Sojourner πŸ™‚

Oh my goodness. Oh my gosh. I can’t even encourage you enough to read Shadow and Bone, Time Between Us, Grave Mercy, and Cinder. If you REALLY want to read Cinder, I’d encourage you to pick up the paperback copy when it’s released, because I believe there’s some bonus content in it. They were all great reads, and I cried my heart out in Time Between Us.

    Happy reading, Sara!
