Inspired by an article on Babble called, Judging a Book by Its Cover: A 6-year-old Guesses What Classic Novels Are All About, I have asked my 6 year old what his thoughts are on a few Young Adult covers lying around the house. To take it a step further, I also had him make some cover art!
“This is about somebody who is in the air and flying with black wings. He’s trying to do a flip because maybe he never did one before.”
He does look like he is trying to do a back flip. lol I was surprised Shawn picked this one this week but he did a great job. I hope you enjoyed Shawn’s thoughts and artwork this week! Since a couple other blogs have expressed interest in doing something similar, I have decided to add a linky tool, so that you can also check out what they are doing as well! I hope you will give them a look see!
Don’t forget to let us know what you think! 🙂

“Because maybe he never did one before.” Priceless. 🙂 He DOES look like that’s what he’s trying to do, though. I still need to read the last book in this series. 🙁

If it makes you feel better, I still need to read the last two… lol

I love it! It does look like the guy is doing a back flip n the cover. 🙂
Sara @ Forever 17 Books
It does. lol I never really thought of it that way beforehand.

Oh my gosh, this is adorable! I love that he’s doing the back flip because he’s never done one before. I guess that means I have some back flips to do too. 🙂 Such a cute feature, and I love the drawing too!
Sara @ Forever 17 Books
Thank you! We have a lot of fun with this!
Jennifer Messerschmidt
awww he is doing a back flip! No angel mention at all? LOL Great drawing!
Sara @ Forever 17 Books
I guess he didn’t put those pieces together. lol Maybe it was because the wings are black? I’m guessing kids associate angels more with white wings.
Haraiah
Oooh. It’s soo cute! He did a really great job with the drawing.

This is such a cute feature! I should get my 4 year old to do this! BTW he loves your blog design because he loves tigers. He saw I was on your blog one day and said, “Look mom, a tiger!” 🙂
Sara @ Forever 17 Books
Yes! Join in! I love seeing what the kids do! Also, how sweet is he? <333
