‘Waiting On’ Wednesday (45): Proxy by Alex London

March 13, 2013 Alex London, Fiona Paul, Penguin, Philomel, Proxy, Waiting on Wednesday 58

**Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.**

Expected Publication Date: June 18th 2013

Publisher: Philomel

From Goodreads:

Knox was born into one of the City’s wealthiest families. A Patron, he has everything a boy could possibly want—the latest tech, the coolest clothes, and a Proxy to take all his punishments. When Knox breaks a vase, Syd is beaten. When Knox plays a practical joke, Syd is forced to haul rocks. And when Knox crashes a car, killing one of his friends, Syd is branded and sentenced to death.

Syd is a Proxy. His life is not his own.

Then again, neither is Knox’s. Knox and Syd have more in common than either would guess. So when Knox and Syd realize that the only way to beat the system is to save each other, they flee. Yet Knox’s father is no ordinary Patron, and Syd is no ordinary Proxy. The ensuing cross-country chase will uncover a secret society of rebels, test both boys’ resolve, and shine a blinding light onto a world of those who owe and those who pay. Some debts, it turns out, cannot be repaid.

Why I Can’t Wait: A couple weeks ago, the lovely Fiona Paul, author of Venom, recommended Proxy to me and I was super excited. This concept sounds so crazy awesome. Then I noticed it’s not out yet. *cries*

I want to gasp, cheer and cry too! Seriously, this sounds like something that can bring out all kinds of emotions and I cannot wait for that!

WOAH. I am so glad u picked this because i have to agree the concept sounds out of this world crazy! I hope this brings out a ton of emotions too! I would NEVER let someone else take the blame for something I did, I would feel indebted to them. Adding to my June TBR pile! And Fiona has great taste in books 🙂

I’ve seen so many people wanting this one–and a few who have received it this week (via Twitter). It’ll be interesting considering the main 2 characters are male.

Thanks for stopping by my WoW!
