Inspired by an article on Babble called, Judging a Book by Its Cover: A 6-year-old Guesses What Classic Novels Are All About, I have asked my 6 year old what his thoughts are on a few Young Adult covers lying around the house. To take it a step further, I also had him make some cover art!
“Rump is about a boy and girl who go to this castle with somebody working at the top of the castle named (points to cover) Rumpelstiltskin, and he was making clothes. The two people came in the castle and asked if they could play with him. He said no so they went home. Oh and the boy and girl came from school.”
I don’t read a lot of MG novels but this looks cute! Shawn will be heading to 2nd grade in the fall so I was thinking of maybe starting to check a few out once in awhile. They say age 8 for MG, dos anyone know if an almost 7 year old would be okay? Maybe we could read this together over the summer. 🙂
I hope you enjoyed Shawn’s thoughts and artwork this week! Since a couple other blogs have expressed interest in doing something similar, I have decided to add a linky tool, so that you can also check out what they are doing as well! I hope you will give them a look see!
Don’t forget to let us know what you think! 🙂
