Publisher: Balzer + Bray

From Goodreads:

Before: Reena Montero has loved Sawyer LeGrande for as long as she can remember: as natural as breathing, as endless as time. But he’s never seemed to notice that Reena even exists…until one day, impossibly, he does. Reena and Sawyer fall in messy, complicated love. But then Sawyer disappears from their humid Florida town without a word, leaving a devastated—and pregnant—Reena behind.

After: Almost three years have passed, and there’s a new love in Reena’s life: her daughter, Hannah. Reena’s gotten used to being without Sawyer, and she’s finally getting the hang of this strange, unexpected life. But just as swiftly and suddenly as he disappeared, Sawyer turns up again. Reena doesn’t want anything to do with him, though she’d be lying if she said Sawyer’s being back wasn’t stirring something in her. After everything that’s happened, can Reena really let herself love Sawyer LeGrande again?

In this breathtaking debut, Katie Cotugno weaves together the story of one couple falling in love—twice.

Why I Can’t Wait: This is one of those books I added to my TBR the moment I first read the synopsis. Scratch that, I don’t think I even finished reading the whole thing before I added it because she had me at ‘messy, complicated love’. The rest is just gravy. I’ve been neurotically checking Edelweiss, waiting for an answer to my request to review for the past 3 weeks. *fingers crossed*

How have I not heard about this? I love how simplistic the cover is, and it sounds really original, especially for YA. Heavy, but a good kind of heavy. I’m sold 😀

  2. Maria

This sounds interesting – but he better have a good reason for disappearing for 3 years…lol

    Great pick 🙂

Edelweiss seems to take their sweet ass time, don’t they? I know it’s the publisher, not the site, but still.. I get responses much quicker on NetGalley.

Great choice, by the way 🙂

OMG! Yes! I can’t wait for this one too! Plus, I love that it is about second chance romances, those are always the good ones. I snatched it the minute I saw it on EW. Hopefully you’ll get approved soon 🙂

Ahhh Sara it got me at ‘messy, complicated love’ too! I think I’m masochist for that kind of story so this one is now under my radar. I can’t wait to see what you think of it 🙂
