Giveaway: All Our Pretty Songs by Sarah McCarry

July 13, 2013 All Our Pretty Songs, Giveaway, Sarah McCarry 26

From Goodreads:

The first book in an exciting YA trilogy, this is the story of two best friends on the verge of a terrifying divide when they begin to encounter a cast of strange and mythical characters.

Set against the lush, magical backdrop of the Pacific Northwest, two inseparable best friends who have grown up like sisters—the charismatic, mercurial, and beautiful Aurora and the devoted, soulful, watchful narrator—find their bond challenged for the first time ever when a mysterious and gifted musician named Jack comes between them. Suddenly, each girl must decide what matters most: friendship, or love. What both girls don’t know is that the stakes are even higher than either of them could have imagined. They’re not the only ones who have noticed Jack’s gift; his music has awakened an ancient evil—and a world both above and below which may not be mythical at all. The real and the mystical; the romantic and the heartbreaking all begin to swirl together, carrying the two on journey that is both enthralling and terrifying.

And it’s up to the narrator to protect the people she loves—if she can.

Wow — a love triangle with two girls and one guy — a nice change.

Favorite song — uh…. it drives my family crazy but Good Feeling by Flo Rida. It seems to be on every commercial, so I hear it all the time….

  2. Tammy

Right now, Icona Pop I Love It. It’s the song I do my ab workout to so I might convince myself I like doing situps (hasn’t worked yet but I’m trying).

Same as the above comment. Radioactive. First time I heard it was on some show dealing with the army then I kept hearing it everywhere. My 6 yr old loves it he sings along its cute:)

  4. Alise (Readers In Wonderland)

I really love books that explore the friendship between characters rather than JUST a romance, although there is definitely romance in this book! I agree with Jen, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the two girls one guy scenario. Thanks for sharing!

I have so many songs that I love but my favorite, that I’m sure NO ONE knows is I’ve Never Been to Me by Charlene.

  6. Cassie

That is a hard question. It depends on why I am listening to music (background, something to fit my mood, something to change my mood, etc.). I dig Walk on the Ocean by Toad the Wet Sprocket right now.

  7. Anonymous

I really can’t say I have a favorite song. I like to listen to easy listening and country. I grew up in the 50,60 and 70 era so the music today doesn’t classify as a favorite for me. Thanks for the giveaway.

  8. Mom's Small Victories

I’m stuck in the 80’s and 90’s at the moment. I love Michael Jackson, Bad and Beat It and Thriller. All these years later and now my kids love to dance to it!

  9. starryeyedjen

So excited for this book! Ancient evil FTW! 😀 I don’t know that I could EVER pick a favorite song, but I pretty much love anything by Two Door Cinema Club. 🙂

  10. Christine

My favorite song changes basically every day, since I’m always finding new artists and songs to become obsessed with! Right now I’m addicted to Seagull by Saturday Sun, FortyFive by Bootstraps, Still by Daughter, and What I Wouldn’t Do by Serena Ryder 🙂
