From Goodreads:

Love, power, and magic collide with war in the second book of the Falling Kingdoms series

Auranos has fallen and the three kingdoms—Auranos, Limeros, and Paelsia—are now united as one country called Mytica. But still, magic beckons, and with it the chance to rule not just Mytica, but the world…

When the evil King Gaius announces that a road is to be built into the Forbidden Mountains, formally linking all of Mytica together, he sets off a chain of events that will forever change the face of this land, forcing Cleo the dethroned princess, Magnus the reluctant heir, Lucia the haunted sorceress, and Jonas the desperate rebel to take steps they never could have imagined.

Why I Can’t Wait: So I read the first book, Falling Kingdoms, last week and absolutely loved it! My review has not been posted yet but that’s because it was the very first book picked for the new YA Book Club I am a part of and I wanted to wait until after we met to post it and we are meeting tonight! EEP! There will be a write-up and such too. But I definitely cannot wait to get back into it with this sequel!

Yay! I hope you like it as much as I did! Hopefully my review will be up soon. I have to talk to the girls at book club because we might be doing some sort of recap together. 🙂

  1. Jasprit

Oh I didn’t realise that there would be a follow up book to Falling Kingdoms, I know quite a few bloggers who enjoyed the first book! Wonderful pick Sara! 🙂

  2. Beth Kait

I haven’t heard of either of these 🙁 But then again I’m not really into fantasy all that much, so that’s probably why! Sounds good though and I trust your reviews! 🙂 As always, love your tiger, love your blog. *steals tiger*

So jealous of your real life book club. How much fun is that?!? Also, great pick. I liked the first book…I’m just not the biggest fan of all those points of view. Still excited to see what happens next, though. And these books have the most awesome covers!

I’m incredibly nervous because I’m so shy and I’m afraid I won’t know what to say. lol But I’m sure everything will work out great! And there are 2 other bloggers coming!

Usually I’m not too huge in so many POV’s but I liked how it worked in this one.

  4. Sam (Realm of Fiction)

I was pleasantly surprised by Falling Kingdoms! I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would, and I was in a bit of a fantasy slump when I picked it up too. I definitely can’t wait to see what happens next now. Great pick, Sara! 🙂

  5. Cyn

I still need to write my review for the first one too haha but it’s so crazy right! A big lesson I learnt was don’t’ pick favourites in high fantasty novel. People are going die! haha. Can’t wait for the second one. Great pick!

Here’s my (and Kim’s) WoW at Bookmunchies (:

  6. Lauren @ Love is not a triangle

I love epic fantasy series. But I haven’t read the first one yet. However, knowing you loved it AND the second one is coming out soon, makes me more interested in picking it up. Sometimes I do better reading these in closer chunks. Thanks for sharing this, Sara!

  7. Book Blather

I shall look out for your review of Falling Kingdoms – I haven’t read it, but I might be interested. I’ve recently started reading more fantasy and I’m having a great time! (Kristin Cashore ROCKED MY WORLD!) Love the cover for this sequel, it’s fantastic. Cool pick. 🙂

  8. Aman

I love high fantasy but have yet to read Falling Kingdom. I wasn’t aware that it was a part of a series, now I definitely need to read it. Plus, I love the covers! Great pick, Sara!

  9. Sierra

I really loved the first and I’m excited for this one…why does it’s release have to be so far away!! Hhaa, I wanna know what happens!!

  10. Laura B

I am definitely reading this one when it releases! Can’t wait to see what happens with Cleo, since I did say she was my least fave of Falling Kingdoms LOL

    • Sara @ Forever 17 Books

LOL I didn’t mind Cleo as much as you. Should be interesting now that her life is completely turned upside down! If non of us get to read it early, we should pick this for our December book. 🙂

  11. Sunny Duvall

I heard such mixed reviews on Falling Kingdoms so I’ve put it on the wayside on my shelf, but now I KNOW I have to get on it if you loved it so much and you’re waiting for the sequel!
