A Kid’s Perspective: Judging a Book By Its Cover (48)

Inspired by an article on Babble called, Judging a Book by Its Cover: A 6-year-old Guesses What Classic Novels Are All About, I have asked my 6 year old what his thoughts are on a few Young Adult covers lying around the house. To take it a step further, I also had him make some cover art!

Rush by Eve Silver

I think Rush is about a boy and girl who are walking together in the spring. They are brother and sister. And then it starts raining so they start to go home but then the rains stops and they keep taking a walk.”

I like how he turned the title, Rush, into rushing out of the rain. And he did so good with the picture! He picked the book out but showed concern for the block letters and the tiny people and he ended up doing amazing!

I hope you enjoyed Shawn’s thoughts and artwork this week! Since a couple other blogs have expressed interest in doing something similar, I have decided to add a linky tool, so that you can also check out what they are doing as well! I hope you will give them a look see!

Don’t forget to let us know what you think! 🙂

This week’s drawing is so good! His synopsis was also very interesting to read. Shawn definitely exceeded our cuteness expectations 🙂
