**Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.**

The Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead

The Golden Lily (Bloodlines #2)

The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines #3)

The Fiery Heart (Bloodlines #4)

Silver Shadows (Bloodlines #5) – Publication Date: July 29th 2014

Untitled (bloodlines #6) – Publication Date: 2015

Why I Can’t Wait: This week’s Waiting On Wednesday I decided to do a little differently. I spent the last couple weeks reading the Vampire Academy series (I am in the middle of writing the reviews. I’m hoping to make it a week long event!) and fell in love with the books and characters. In fact, it’s been a little hard for me to get into reading anything else since I finished. I just want to go back and enjoy the series again but alas, it’s time to move on. The best news ever is I get to see some of the old faces I loved once again in this spin-off series! I really hope I love these books as much as the others. Why haven’t I jumped right in? Well, I think I need to wait until the 5th book, Silver Shadows, comes out this summer. I just don’t know if I could wait so long in between release dates for these! So I will be waiting on these books until July which feels like forever away but at least I am not endlessly thinking about a cliffhanger… for now. lol And then it will be the wait for the finale, which I am guessing will kill us all!

YAY! I’m so glad you’re reading VA! It’s my absolute favorite all time series and Bloodlines is a very close second. It’s a little rough in the beginning but gets better with Indigo Spell. I read Fiery Heart last week and it was the best! I can’t wait to see what you think of Sydrian!! 🙂

I’ve read most of the books in the Vampire Academy series but it’s one of the many series I need to finish. I think I have the last two books somewhere, it’s just a matter of actually reading them. Thanks for sharing. And I hope the Bloodlines series lives up to your expectations! 🙂

I actually might like the Bloodlines books more than VA, simply because I relate to Sydney much more easily than Rose. But I still love Rose and Dimitri. 🙂 Can’t wait to see what you think of Sydney and Adrian when you get to these! July seems far away, but when you think of all the books you have to read until then, it’s not so bad. 🙂

I’m up to date with this series and I think you’ll enjoy when you get to read them all together. You’ll enjoy the growth in once while we had to wait for years to get the whole picture. Great pick 🙂

EXCELLENT choice(s), picked Silver shadows for my very first WOW post. Huge VA/Bloodlines fan myself, you have great taste. 🙂
And as far as waiting until July is concerned, I think you have the right idea! If you finish the first 4 books now, I can guarantee the wait is going to kill you until July like the rest of us Richelle Mead fans.

Yay!So happy you loved VA so much!
Richelle Mead has a yay of making you forget about all other books and making all books after seem so blah. Major book hangover! Her characters have a way of staying with you after you finish the books.
I’m hoping you can’t wait until July. If it makes you feel any better, I didn’t think the ending of book 4 was that much of a cliffy. Of course after Shadow Kiss, it’s hard to top that cliffy.
Bloodlines starts off a little slow (VA started off slow for me too) and Sydney is the total opposite of Rose, but the series really does get really good. And Adrian! Enough said 🙂

You loved VA! I have to read your review of Last Sacrifice! I was heartbroken over that book for the longest time 🙁 </3
I didn't get over it until I started the Bloodlines series because my favorite character came back better than ever<3
I literally JUST finished The Fiery Heart and I can totally understand why you're waiting. But it's so great. I love this series even more than VA. I hope you like it too 😀
And in response to Nereyda: ADRIAN! Yes 😀

oh my goodness! I just read the VA books for the first time a few months ago, and I was so sad to see them end, but I jumped right into the Bloodlines series. If you can believe it, I actually fell in love with them MORE than the VA series!! However, The Fiery Heart does have a BIG cliffhanger, and I am dying for it to be July just so I can get my hands on Silver Shadows so it’s probably smart that you are waiting until then to jump into them! Thanks for the post, and amazing pick! I wish I had a blank slate in my mind so I could reread these books from scratch like you are going to!! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!!!!

I know everyone was absolutely in love with Dimitri, but I have to say I love Adrian much MUCH more 🙂 you are a genius to not start this series yet bc I’m having such a hard time waiting for Silver Shadows!! I definitely prefer the Bloodlines series to VA, even though there’s less action. Great post, happy reading!
