‘Waiting On’ Wednesday (116): Like Never and Always by Ann Aguirre

October 25, 2017 Waiting on Wednesday 19

**Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. **

Title: Like Never and Always
Author: Ann Aguirre
Publication Date: July 17th 2018
Publisher: Tor Teen

Summary from Goodreads:

On a hot summer night, a screech of brakes and shattering glass changes two lives forever.

Liv wakes in the hospital, confused when they call her Morgan. She assumes it’s a case of mistaken identity, yet when the bandages come off, it’s not her face in the mirror anymore. It’s her best friend Morgan’s.

Morgan always seemed to have the perfect life, yet Liv must navigate endlessly disturbing secrets of the criminal and murderous variety—and a romance that feels like a betrayal. Torn between the boy she loved as Liv and the boy she’s grown to love as Morgan, Liv still has to survive Morgan’s last request.

Why I Can’t Wait: So basically the MC dies and comes back in her friend’s body? It sort of reminds me of that mistaken identity case years ago where the coroner got two victims mixed up (one dead, one in a coma) for weeks. This sounds like a cool spin off of a similar situation and I need to know how it plays out!

I’m not sure, but I think I heard of Ann Aguirre before. Not sure which books she written, but it sounds familiar. The story of this book does sounds very interesting. She got a new face? What! & life.. 🙂

She’s written a lot of books. The Razorland series, the Immortal Game series, I want it That Way, etc. You may recognize the book covers if you saw them. I haven’t read any of her prior books yet though. But I do love the sound of this one!

OMG!! This is SO creepy, and yet, fascinating at the same time! My curiosity is DEFINITELY piqued! Like you, I really want to see how this plays out. Aguirre is a TERRIFIC writer, according to the reviews of her work I’ve read. So I’m adding this one to my Goodreads shelves. GREAT pick!! 🙂
