The Others freed the cassandra sangue to protect the blood prophets from exploitation, not realizing their actions would have dire consequences. Now the fragile seers are in greater danger than ever before; both from their own weaknesses and from those who seek to control their divinations for wicked purposes. In desperate need of answers, Simon Wolfgard, a shape-shifter leader among the Others, has no choice but to enlist blood prophet Meg Corbyn’s help, regardless of the risks she faces by aiding him.

Meg is still deep in the throes of her addiction to the euphoria she feels when she cuts and speaks prophecy. She knows each slice of her blade tempts death. But Others and humans alike need answers, and her visions may be Simon’s only hope of ending the conflict.

For the shadows of war are deepening across the Atlantik, and the prejudice of a fanatic faction is threatening to bring the battle right to Meg and Simon’s doorstep…

For anyone who hasn’t noticed, I’ve been slowly working my way through The Others series in these past few weeks. The books have such a unique world and I love how the author has continued to build on it as the series grows. Vision in Silver is another wonderful installment!

This installment continues the story of unrest developing between humans and the Others that we witness brewing earlier on. A human group is making calculated moves against them and thanks to Meg’s visions since she is a blood prophet, they are able to stop or help in situations where they are attacked. While the series started out with heavy focus on Meg, I think these later installments are branching farther out, running with her visions and what they mean to the war that seems to be brewing underneath the surface and all those around her. We have so many great characters who are so important all around – the Others, Meg’s human pack (as Simon refers to her human friends), more blood prophets, and the local police officers. They all play such important roles now. There were a few mentions of terrifying terra indiguene creatures in the wild that the humans are unaware of and as the unrest seems to be getting worse, I can feel the tension growing and growing and I’m stoked to see how this plays out in the books to come!

Guys, I may be dead before my ship gets together. They are moving at a snail’s pace and it’s killing me because I totally get it. It really does work with the story here, I can’t deny that. But I’m getting so antsy! Humans and the terra indiguene, the Others, have been know to have sexual relations with each other but it’s pretty taboo and never about romance and love. What we are getting between Meg and Simon are two different beings truly getting to know each other. They have such a deep connection and strong friendship. It’s all so very new and though it seems obvious to everyone else, they are a little clueless to what is truly happening between them. And I love them for it!

If you haven’t read this series yet, I definitely recommend doing so!

Haha, reminds me of watching a favorite TV show and having to wait endless seasons for your ship to get together. This sounds like such a great series though. Once I finish up some of the lingering series on my TBR, I’m going to have to try this one.
