Phoenix (Black City #2) by Elizabeth Richards

Expected Publication Date: June 4th 2013

Publisher: G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers

From Goodreads:

Engaged to be married, Ash and Natalie are just starting to build a life together, when things in the United Sentry States go from bad to worse. Ash and Natalie find themselves at the center of the turmoil when dictator Purian Rose threatens Natalie’s life unless Ash votes in favor of Rose’s law—a law that will send Darklings and other dissenters to a deadly concentration camp known as the Tenth.

Ash can’t bring himself to trade Natalie’s life for those of millions of Darklings. The only way to save everyone is to escape Black City and find the Ora, a powerful weapon that could take down Purian Rose for good. But fleeing the city and finding this weapon is easier said than done, if it even exists, and becomes a quest that could tear Ash and Natalie apart, even pushing them into the arms of others.

Why I Can’t Wait: Black City is releasing next week (review will be up tomorrow as part of the blog tour) and let me just say how much I can’t wait for the sequel already! This series is exciting and different and such a delight to read. So glad the wait isn’t even a full year away! And of course, the cover is beautiful! 🙂

What are you waiting on this week? Links if you got ’em!

I am LOVING this trend of releasing books in a series a little closer together. I mean, whose idea was it to make readers wait a year so they forget what was happening?

Off to read your Requiem review. Better not be any spoilers in there 😉

I got in on the tour too! Only a character post, but I’m SO EXCITED. I didn’t manage to get my hands on an ARC, but I love the fact that once I read the first one the second one won’t be far behind!
