From Goodreads:

Rescued by a stranger.
Haunted by a secret
Sometimes, love isn’t easy…

He watched her, but never knew her. Until thanks to a chance encounter, he became her savior…

The attraction between them was undeniable. Yet the past he’d worked so hard to overcome, and the future she’d put so much faith in, threatened to tear them apart.

Only together could they fight the pain and guilt, face the truth—and find the unexpected power of love.

A groundbreaking novel in the New Adult genre, Easy faces one girl’s struggle to regain the trust she’s lost, find the inner strength to fight back against an attacker, and accept the peace she finds in the arms of a secretive boy.

Oh, Easy, why in the world did I wait so long to read you?! I loved everything about this book! It was sexy, it was heartfelt, and it was just what I needed in a contemporary romance.

Jacqueline is attacked outside a party one night until a stranger intervenes and rescues her. Unfortunately, she was too afraid to report it. It’s upsetting but sadly the case that happens way too often in the real world. 🙁

Turns out her rescuer, Lucas, is also in one of her classes, one she happens to be severely behind in after a bad breakup with her long-term boyfriend. After she runs into Lucas a few more times, a spark ignites between the two but it seems there may be some skeletons hidden in his closet.

The chemistry between these two was amazing! And oh how I loved Lucas! He was sweet, protective, extremely responsible with his multiple jobs (seriously, how many were there? lol), and an all around wonderful guy. Oh, and he has a lot of tattoos. HOT! That gives off a bad boy persona but Lucas never really fit that mold for me because he was just always so sweet and genuine to everyone. Jacqueline becomes a survivor in more ways than one. She takes self-defense classes and later-on she realizes the mistake she made by not reporting the attack right away and she puts her every effort into rectifying that. But she also becomes a survivor in the sense of the breakup with her high school boyfriend. Her eyes open to just how much of herself she was giving away and how she needed to change and do what she wanted to do with her life. She was a delightful and likable character and I loved her seeing her transform into a more confident woman.

The romance buildup was at just the perfect pace for me. They took their time but also couldn’t help but cave to their attraction for each other. And guys, he even draws hers! *dreamy sigh* I have no idea why I find that so swoony but indeed it was. This book reminded me why I love a good romance so much and I flew right through it, hardly able to put it down.

I honestly don’t even have anything else to say besides go read it, if you haven’t already!

Great review- I haven’t read this one but it sounds like a winner. I like that the romance wasn’t TOO fast; that’s nice. Guys drawing girls make me think of Titanic. 😉 I guess that makes it romantic, even if the girl IS wearing all her clothes. haha

Plus I love that it’s not all about romance, we did learn a lot by the end. I’m so glad you enjoyed Easy! Fabulous review, Sara 🙂

Besides the fact that it has a fantastic message for girls/women, it is extremely well written! Great plot, great romance, and so much honesty in the development of the characters and their relationships with one another. One of my favorite books I’ve read so far this year! I will never stop telling people to read this one if they haven’t already!

OMG this is one of the best NA books I’ve read. I totally agree that the pacing of the romance was just perfect. And trust me, you’re not the only one who swooned when Lucas drew her. 😉 🙂

I LOVED EASY! I waited a long time to read it, too, so don’t feel bad. Now you have to read her Between the Lines series. It is seriously fun.

I’m one of the few who hasn’t read this book yet. I’m generally not a huge fan of romance-driven contemporaries, but I’m curious here since EVERYONE seems to love it. I just want to read it for myself! Also, I like that you feel as though Lucas isn’t your stereotypical bad boy. I always appreciate authors going against certain tropes/norms. Great review, Sara!

I can’t believe I still haven’t read this! I have it, and began reading it and had to put it aside. I am such a sucker for guys with tattoos, and if they happen to be more sweet guy than bad buy, all the better! So happy to hear I have such a fab read ahead of me. Lovely review!
