Top Ten Tuesday (14) – Top Ten Books I Wish Could Have Had Sequels

August 6, 2013 Books I Wish Could Have Sequels, Delirium, Eleanor and Park, Extinguish, Just Like Fate, More Than This, My Life Next Door, Parallel, The Sea of Tranquility, Top Ten Tuesday 73

**Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and Bookish.**

So this week’s topic appeared to be an easy one. APPEARED. So many of my reads ARE series. And I’m also pleasantly happy with the way others have ended. But I attempted a list anyways. Now I must stress, most of these have amazingly perfect endings, I just wouldn’t mind a little something more too. πŸ™‚

One of my favorites from this year so far! It had some steamy, sexy scenes but also showed a side of heaven and hell that I really appreciated. The ending was bittersweet and exactly how it should have ended but I can’t help longing for more! (my review)

Such a beautiful and real story. I fell completely in love with Park and the way he loved Eleanor. Part of me really wanted more at the end so of course I’d love to get back to these two amazing characters and see what happens in their lives from there on out. (my review)

I love parallel worlds so this was an awesome read! It all wraps up very well but I can’t help but wish for more! (my review)

I love, love, love this book! I remember when I finished reading it how badly I wanted to know what happened next with all of these characters! (my review)

The most perfect book with the most perfect ending ever! BUT I’d absolutely take more. A story for Drew, perhaps? (my review)

Okay, so this one isn’t out yet BUT it was AH-MAZING! Such a beautiful message. Even though it ends brilliantly, I’d love to explore more! (review coming soon!)

Cheating again and picking another upcoming release! Another beautiful story with a wonderful ending. I’m just being selfish by wanting more of Chris! (review coming on Thursday!)

Guys, I loved this series so much. It was one of my favorites. But that ending was not an ending for me, which is why I would love more. I NEED more closure. (my reviews here & here)

What about you? Any books you’d like a sequel too? Worlds and characters with more to explore? Please leave a link if you got one!

I’ve been seeing the Sea of Tranquility on so many lists!!! I agree, this week’s topic was REALLY hard!

Great list, for such a difficult TTT!!!

I couldn’t even come up with 10! lol I had a few more I almost listed but then I thought I was starting to just list all my favorite contemp standalones. Wish I had thought to put Harry Potter though!

Almost all the books are on my TBR list so I think I can say that pretty awesome list. πŸ˜€ I need to find copies of these books, and read them asap. πŸ™‚

Requiem really was too open ended. She should have at least thrown in an epilogue or something lol. And I really loved Parallel too. But I agree. I don’t know how she would have stretched it out any more lol. My TTT

I didn’t really like the other two books in the Delirium series, at least not as much as the first, so I don’t need more sequels.

I have Just like Fate on my wish list. Hopefully, I will enjoy it just as much as you did.

P.S. Great post. Thanks for sharing.

I love My Life Next Door. I’d definitely like to revisit that couple. Yay for Parallel. I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought this story could use more. I just started Just Like Fate. Good to hear that it’s good enough to warrant a sequel! Great list!

I wish there was a sequel to Requiem too! I mean, I’m ok with the ending (it took me a LONG time to get to that place), but I would love to know more. It’d be cool to have at least some resolution.

I really want a sequel for My Life Next Door too! I LOVED that book like crazy but I really want to know whatever happened to Sam and Jase’s relationship as college rolled around!
The deliruim series (although it is a series) needed another PROPER finale book. *crosses fingers for book four even though it’ll never happen* I felt the third book was very much a middle book and didn’t have that epic Finale thing I was hoping for!

Holy crap, Extinguish NEEDS to have a sequel! I’m not done with that book yet, I want more! I want Hunter (from My Life Next Door) to get his own book. The author said she wrote it but is hoping for it to get picked up. The Sea of Tranquility was perfection, I want the best friend to get his own book too because I’m happy with the way it ended.

Nice list. I still need to read Eleanor & Park but knowing me, I’ll want more when I finish too. I LOVE The Perks of Being a Wallflower and while I think the book is amazing and it ends perfectly for the novel…I want to know more about these characters!

I’m so scared to read Requiem because of all the talk about the ending. Eleanor & Park is on my list, too. At least we have Fangirl to look forward to! πŸ˜€

I’ve been scared to read a book because of reviews before too. Unravel Me, which I’m actually finally reading now. And I JUST finished Fangirl yesterday! I wouldn’t have minded more from that one too. lol

  11. Rebecca Lockhart

I haven’t read any of these books except for the Delirium series and I definitely agree with you on that one. I need more closure. Like what happened to the characters?? Maybe Lauren Oliver will be like just kidding, it’s not over? I will definitely be checking some of these other books! Great list!

I totally agree with you! This did APPEAR to be an easy topic, but once I started it wasn’t quite so easy. And I would love a sequel to ELEANOR & PARK, and don’t even get me started on the Delirium trilogy!

ELEANOR AND PARK!!! PLEASE. I know this is a possibility and I hope it does happen. Agree with wanting something set in the worlds of My Life Next Door and The Sea of Tranquility, but I don’t want more drama for those main characters (tho I’d like to see them happy together). And Extinguish! AHHHHH. I agree. Such a bittersweet end. I’m so thrilled to have won it.

  14. Lea (YA Book Queen)

A sequel to MY LIFE NEXT DOOR would be great – I need more of the Garrett family!

And yes to DELIRIUM – the ending didn’t satisfy me at all, so I’d love more books.

    Fabulous choices!

  15. Christy Mullins

Great list! My Life Next Door made my list too and I totally agree about the Delirium trilogy πŸ˜€

I really need to pick up Eleanor and Park since I’m seeing it everywhere πŸ™‚

  16. Erika

I’ll definitely take more for Requiem and My Life Next Door. LOVED Delirium and even Pandemonium and Requiem was great until it was just over with no real closure. At least give me an Epilogue! Also LOVED My Life Next Door…just loved all of the characters and the super sweet love story! Thanks for sharing some of the others! I will have to check them out!

  17. Aman

YES on Parallel! I want more Abby and Josh!!! I bought Eleanor and Park last week and hopefully will read it this month. So looking forward to it πŸ™‚

  18. Becca

These Top Ten Tuesdays just remind me how many books I have not read lol. Out of all of yours, I’d probably say Parallel looks up my alley. I’d most definitely read that one in the future πŸ˜€

  19. Jessica Leigh

Yay for Parallel! OMG. I was freaking out at that ending! I was like, NOT FAIR! And Sea of Tranquility, I agree with a Drew book! I haven’t read My Life Next Door yet, but I can’t wait to!

Thanks for stopping by yesterday Sara!

Yes to My Life Next Door and The Sea of Tranquility. When they ended, I was like, where’s the rest? I *need* more from these characters! πŸ™‚
